Zhenjiang, a stunning port city in eastern China, lies on the joint of the Grand Canal and Yangtze River, approaching to Nanjing in the south. It covers an area of 3,848 sq.km. and houses approximately 3 million people.

As a historic and cultural city with a 3,500-year history, Zhenjiang is rich in calligraphy, monument carvings, ancient temples, legends and stories concerned with the celebrities. Zhenjiang is also well-known for the mountains and waters. From Tang dynasty to Song dynasty, a lot of famous poets composed many poems or articles to describe the charming views of Zhenjiang. Additionally, many scientists, artists and travelers had ever lived and worked in Zhenjiang for many years. Marco Polo was one of them who wrote down his impression of Zhenjiang in his book, The Travels of Marco Polo.
