As a renowned county of Suzhou, Changshu lies in the southeast of Jiangsu Province and the developed area of Yangtze River Delta. It covers an area of 1,266 sq. km. and houses around 1million people.

Changshu is famous for its abundant resources, long history and beautiful views. For the unique geography location, flat land, warm and humid climate, Changshu is rich in grain and considered as the ¡°Home of fish and rice of southern China¡± in ancient time. As early as the Neolithic Age, the ancestors had lived and cultivated in the virgin land. About 11th Century B.C. in Shang dynasty, the king proclaimed this land as one part of Wu State. In 540 A.D. in South Liang dynasty, this land was firstly named Changshu. Since then, Changshu may has prospered.

Changshu is also well-known for its mountains and lake views. In the area, Mt. Yushan is the highest mountain with a height of 261 meters. Compared with the flat land nearby, it is absolutely a landmark of the city. Shang Hu Lake is famous for its fascinating lake views. Now, Changshu is a hot spot for tourists near Suzhou.
