Jiang Nan Imperial Examination Court

Jiang Nan Imperial Examination Court, situated on the bank of Qinhuai River and approaching to the Confucius Temple, is the largest imperial examination court in ancient China. It covers an area of 300,000 sq. m. starting from Yaojia Lane in the east and ending at Gongyuan Street West. Because of the imperial examination and Confucius Temple, Qinhuai River was rapidly prospered. Nowadays, the existing imperial examination court only takes up a small proportion of the original size. In the front the building, you can imagine how it might be in the past.
