Duolun Road

The words, “One Duolun road: a witness to one hundred years of Shanghai history,” are painted onto the side of a colorful motley wall. A Lu Xun statue stands by its side.

Most of the famous literary residences along Duolun road have long since been converted into common residential housing, and most do not openly welcome visitors. But, do not let this seeming lack of attractions dissuade you from coming. Duolun road is home to a series of small private collectors’ museums that will surely excite collector fanatics out there. Here you can find the Chopsticks Museum, the timepiece Museum, Writing style and Strange Rocks Museum, not to mention places like the Book and Ticket Collection Gallery, Newspaper Clippings Museum. And Ancient Pottery Collection Gallery. There is also a hard- to-notice underground market next to Gongfei Café. Here you can find stands working in curios, coins, and books; though there are not too many places here to go shopping.
