Mountain Wudang
 
 

    Located in the northwest of Hubei province, Mt. Wudang is a famous site of Taoism   and world culture heritage site for its complex of ancient buildings. It covers a whole  area of 312 sq. km.


    Mt. Wudang has 72 peaks, 36 cliffs, 9 pools and11 caves. The main peak is Tianzhu peak with a height of 1,612 meters.  With a warm and humid climate, the mountain area is covered by the flourished forests and various plants. Besides, a large area of 1.6millon sq. m. well-preserved complex of ancient building of Taoism and lots of heritage relics make it famous for visitors even since ancient times. Zixiao Palace, Nanyan Palace, Tianzhu Peak and Golden Palace are the highlights of Mt. Wudang. 


    At present, people come to Mt. Wudang not only for its fascinating landscapes, but also for the typical martial art, Taichi which was popular since Song Dynasty.
