Guiyuan Temple

 

    Located in the downtown of Wuhan, Guiyuan Buddhist Temple was built in 1658 A.D. in Qing Dynasty. It covers an area of 4.67 hectares. The new pavilion built in 1922 is a precious treasure of the temple.


    The whole temple consists of the middle, south and north part with around 200 rooms. It is renowned for its fabulous construction style, exquisite sculptures and large number of historic relics among all the Buddhist temples in China. Besides, many foreign celebrities and important politicians had visited the temple which made it more famous among visitors.
