 Zhangzhou Puppet Show
The show is popular in the area of Zhangzhou, Fujian province. It was said that the puppet show started in Jin Dynasty and prospered in Song Dynasty. In Ming and Qing Dynasty, the show spread into Southeast Asia. During the late Ming Dynasty, hundreds of puppet performing parties existing in Zhangzhou. The show is characteristic with its vivid performance including drinking wine, smoking, playing stick and shooting which are all controlled by fingers.
