Opera Museum

Situated in the east of Suzhou, it was built by a rich family from Shan’xi in Qing dynasty. As the best hall under protection among all the old halls in Suzhou, it is famed for its large scale and exquisite decorations.

The opera stage area is the highlight of the whole museum. Especially, the typical red sunk panel, with a red ground color and graceful cravings, not only indicates the excellent technique of ancient architects, but also reveals the fabulous conception of the wise application of the acoustics.
