The Surging Wave Pavilion

 


As the oldest private garden in the South of Yangtze River, the Surging Wave Pavilion was built in Song dynasty. It covers an area of 1.08 hectare. It features the simple and unsophisticated layout, fascinating landscapes, crystal water, odd-shaped rockery hills, winding and belt-like corridor. In the garden, the hill and rock are the main view. On the hill, there are the flourished and huge trees. At its feet, there is a man-made pool. A winding corridor connects the hill and pool as a whole. The famous Surging Wave Pavilion is hidden on top the hill. With its ancient and elegant structure, it is harmonious with the whole atmosphere of the garden.
