Qin Huai River
As a branch of the Yangtze River, Qin Huai River is 110 km (about 68 miles) long and covers a drainage area of 2,631 sq. km. The river was originally called Huai River, and it is said that the river was channeled to the city of Nanjing during the reign of Emperor Qin (221B.C-207 B.C.), so it was named Qin Huai River from then on.
Qin Huai River is the largest river in the Nanjing City. With its fascinating night vies, it attracts the visitors both at home and abroad. Along the both sides of the Qin Huai River, there are many famous sites inclusive of the Confucius Temple, Zhan yuan Garden, Zhong hua Gate.
