Tian Tai Peak
Although Tian Tai Peak is not the tallest in Mt. Jiu hua, yet it is generally regarded as the main peak. It was the place that the Korean monk Kim Kiao Kak (Jin Qiao jue), believed to the avatar of the Bodhisattva Di zang, came to practice the asceticism that was later to allow him to establish Buddhism as the primary religion in Mt. Jiu hua.
Along the trail from Min Park to the top, the lush and perilous peaks and ridges rise one upon another. And springs, streams, bamboo groves, grotesque rocks and craggy cliffs scatter here. An arched stone bridge named "Bridge of Ferrying Immortals Across," lies between the Peak of Dragon Head in the east and the Peak Of Dragon Ball in the west. The passage under the bridge is the entrance leading to the Tian Tai Temple. The small stone pavilion of the Temple is an ideal place to watch the sunrise and enjoy the scenery of Jiu hua Mountain. Here one can gain a bird¡¯s eye view of the fascinating landscape of Mt. Jiu hua and the nearby.
