Shanghai-Suzhou A

This tour can be taken as a short-time journey in the weekend. The Garden of Humble Administrator is the largest typical garden in Suzhou. The most part of the garden exsiting now was finished in 1860 A.D. Suzhou Museum, a modern city with garden style, is the complex of modern and traditional architecure. Pan Men Gate is an ancient city gate for both the waterways and land where you can have the beautiful view of the Grand Canal. You can even take a leisurely cruise on the Grand Canal. Besides, Suzhou is also famous for the silk, you can visit the largest silk factory in China and get to know the traditional industry since 14th century.

Itinerary

Day 1

Drive to Suzhou, visit the famous Garden of Humble Administrator, the largest typical private garden in Suzhou. Then visit Suzhou Museum, a modern building with Suzhou’s traditional architecture style, designed by the famous Chinese-American architect Mr. Leoh Ming Bei.

Then visit the water-land city gate—Panmen gate, on top of which, enjoy the view of the Grand Canal. Take the cruise on the Grand Canal, opened as early as Sui Dynasty (584A.D.). Continue to visit Silk Factory and get to know the history of silk industry and the traditional handicraft.

After that, drive back to Shanghai.
